Sledding at the Bluff

We had recently gotten a little bit of snow and I really wanted to go sledding. I asked my friend Gloria if she wanted to come sledding and bring Jimmy, her foreign exchange student from Mexico. She thought it was a great idea. Jimmy had never been sledding before. We planned for about 1:00. The only problem was at 12:30 it was RAINING!!! I could tell it was trying to turn into snow. So we decided to wait and see what the sky would bring. It soon started snowing big white fluffy flakes. We decided to make a go for it. At about 7:30 Gloria, her husband Conor, Jimmy and I stood at the top of the bluff...looking down over a big field of white. Jimmy jumped on a sled and took off. We all laughed...he had no idea what he was doing and he wiped out about halfway down the hill. We all took our turns. I haven't laughed that hard in a long time. After about 5 runs down the hill we were all beat. (It's a big hill to climb back up once you are at the bottom.) We decided to call it a night. We all escaped without much injury. There will probably be a few bumps and bruises tomorrow, but it's all worth it.

Thanksgiving Day

For about 18 years(give or take a few years) my family and the Darling family have celebrated Thanksgiving at the church. A little over a year ago our chapel burned and so we didn't do it last year. We were excited to find out the church would be finished in October...just in time for Thanksgiving. We invited a few extra people to come..the more the merrier. We ate at about 1 pm. We had so much food! It tasted so good. We cleaned up a little then headed into the gym for a rousing game of volleyball. Then came time for dessert and the dictionary game. A good time was had by all.

Another Celebration

Apparently one can never have too many celebrations for their birthday. Just because tonight made it number 4 for me doesn't mean I'm spoiled or anything. Hee hee. My dad made my favorite cake Oreo Cream Delight and if you can clearly see...last night I turned 1 and tonight I turned 2! I'm growing so quickly. My sister Carolyn and her family came over. So did a new guy in my ward named Randy. He moved to Alaska 3 weeks ago with his 4 boys. We all thoroughly enjoyed the cake.

A Brewhouse Birthday

I went to my favorite restaurant for dinner on my birthday....Glacier Brewhouse. It was a family affair with my brother Jared, mom and dad, and my sister Carolyn and her husband James. We had a lot of fun and the food was delicious. I got some fun presents. My favorite being the Whirly Pop. Don't be jealous that I have a delicious popcorn making machine. It tastes just like movie theater popcorn. Actually it tastes better, and it only takes 3 minutes on the stove. Faster than microwave popcorn!! Then for dessert I had Amazazing peanut butter pie. As you can see by the pictures, I turned 1 today. I know, I look a little old for my age. Then I spent the rest of my evening with my friend Nick asleep in my lap while I watched Saturday Night Live. It was a memorable night.

Benihana's

The girls from Carolyn's salon and a couple tag alongs all went to Benihana's to celebrate Carolyn's b-day (10/27) and mine (11/22). It was good times and delicious food. When we were all stuffed, Holly pulled out her Sexy Motherpucker lip plumper gloss. We passed it around the table and tried to decide if the plumper actually worked or not. If anything, it definitely made your lips feel tingly. I think in the end, we decided it did work a little. What do you think? As much as I love the food and atmosphere at the restaurant, I don't care too much for the way you smell when you leave....greasy, garlicy, smelliness. I think I'll go shower before bed.

IT'S 3D TIME

JOURNEY TO THE CENTER OF THE EARTH!!! Yes...I admit, I watched it this evening with my best friend Nick. (I don't think he realizes we are best friends but he'll get it one of these days.) With a delicious cookies and cream Klondike bar in hand, we donned our 3D specs and began our journey to the center of the earth. I made it to the center, then I fell asleep somewhere along the way. I woke up just in time to see T-Rex attempt to take a large bite out of my face. So I may have missed some of the movie, but I got the gist of it. A little cheesy but an evening well spent with a friend.

Who Wants to be a Super Hero??

I think at some time in everyone's life, they want to be a superhero. What kind of powers would you have. Would you have x-ray vision? Are you able to leap tall buildings in a single bound? WELL...if you live in Anchorage, Alaska and you happen to have a cool friend who had a super hero birthday party, you could be any super hero you want. (By the way, if you didn't get it, I'm the cool friend who had the super hero birthday party.) Quite a few super heros showed up. As for myself and my counterpart or you could call her my sister, we were SUPER FREAKS!! Our space blanket capes kept us nice and warm and our protective eyewear did just that. Protected our eyes from flying bowling balls. Following in the line up we had Super Geek, with an amazing home made cape of old cd's and a dock to hold his IPOD and speakers. We had Super Mom following suit, with everything from hand sanitizer, diapers, lysol spray to lollipops for the wee ones. Along came Batman, Robin, and The Joker whom I actually don't think was a super hero at all. But no worries....Evil Knievel showed up cape and all. Last in the line made quite a scene Wonder Bra Boy!!! He has quite an important role in the super hero world. Wonder Bra Boy tells us "I am Wonder Bra Boy! I provide support and comfort to women all over the world!!" It was a very fun and interesting night. We started out bowling, went to Chili's for the super hero grub and ended our night at Asia Gardens. There we danced the night away super hero style...well at least Carolyn did with her amazing high kicks which were bound to leave her feeling a little sore the next day. I received some wonderful gifts...which were unexpected but appreciated all the same. Especially the $20 bill handed to me by the drunk guy. I tried to give it back but he refused...so...I'm $20 richer! Thank you drunk man at Asia Gardens! Thanks to all of my friends who came and supported my cooky birthday party.
